ZEITLOS streaming preview

Here is a ZEITLOS streaming preview, available from today until the digital release on iTunes & Amazon.com on Wednesday April 15th, which is also the day when this record will be available for sale the first time at the show @ Witzend Live!

I took great effort in the sonic qualities of this record … the composition, the performance & the instruments … soon also to be available on Vinyl.

Contributors to the indie gogo campaign will get a CD in the mail soon, plus a code for high resolution download to bridge the time until the Vinyl will arrive … Sorry for the long wait, but due to the high demand, the turnaround on pressing Vinyl these days is pretty long …

Check it out … forward it to your friends if you feel like it … if possible listen on good speakers or headphones to get the full sound quality … I am very proud of it & would love it if you give it a ride … this link will only work until April 15 … Free HD Streaming for a few days … If you are in the area please come to the show on Wednesday & pick up your copy of ZEITLOS … a very good sounding Venue … I’ll play my heart out … can’t wait …

ZEITLOS…timeless audacity…

Open Venice | January 2015 | Westminster Arts Club

When I first agreed to help produce the rollout for guitarist, Michael Jost’s, new album, ZEITLOS, it was scheduled for July 2014 in Venice. We had set the date, booked the venue, created the press releases, and I was furiously working on a documentary in Oklahoma when I got the call that he wanted to wait. It wasn’t quite “there” yet, he said.

Well, of course, the producer in me was like, “What!?”, which was quickly tempered by the artist in me that chastised the piece of my left brain that was barking inside my head about the change. It gently reminded me, something that needs constant reiterating…”great art, takes time”. And, in crafting ZEITLOS, taking the right amount of time has lead to an exquisite album, laced with a sense of traveling through landscapes of both subtle and mythic proportions.

Friday, January 30, 2015; 7:30 PM
ZEITLOS, the latest album by legendary Venice Beach guitarist, Michael Jost, is due for release March 2015. A special event to finalize financing for the release is being held at the Electric Lodge with a line up of special guests; exclusive previews of the album, and accompanying music videos produced by Koncept Films.

With ZEITLOS, which translates from the German to mean “timeless”, Michael Jost has created a litany of tracks that take you on an delectable, audible journey. Influenced by his classical roots, the eclectic environment of Venice Beach, and the resurgence of analog recordings, Michael has crafted an album exquisite in its complexity. The title track, ZEITLOS, was recorded on one of his vintage guitars, a 1958 Goya. The album resonates, as well, with the gorgeous tones of handcrafted classical flamenco guitars created by Tomas Delgado of Candelas Guitars. These carefully crafted and chosen instruments serve to highlight Michael’s dedication to the purity and preservation of his craft.

Original cover art for the album is being designed and painted by local artist, Brian Mylius. His original art will be on display the evening of the event.
